operations. Purpose of Role: Reporting to Mine Operations Trainer
II, the Mine Operations Trainer I is responsible in assisting in
the development and implementation of training programs for the
Copper World, Inc. Projects department. This role will be located
at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of
Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona. Role Accountabilities: Stands as a
courageous safety leader by promoting and supporting the creation
of a strong safety culture and safe practices and leading by
example. Serves as a mentor and role model for all mine operations
personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adherence
to best practices. Participates in safety initiatives, toolbox
meetings, hazard identification and incident investigations.
Provides training and coaching of operators in the safe and
efficient operation of all mobile equipment, including classroom
work and fieldwork. Have excellent and positive communication
skills appropriate to the training environment and trainees. Give
directions and instructions to the Mine Operations’ identified peer
trainers who assist with training. Conducts initial and periodic
competency assessments of equipment operators and provides feedback
to the Operator, Supervisor, and General Foreman. Evaluates
equipment operators on their abilities to operate the equipment and
other day-to-day activities safely and effectively to develop them
to produce high-quality equipment operating skills. Documents all
competency assessment information, and standard operating procedure
(SOP) compliance. Maintains accurate records of training events
Implements training action plans for operators that require further
education, training, and coaching. Assists in the development of
any future computer-based learning/training programs. Partakes in
continuous improvement initiatives of the department and the
development and implementation of new training programs.
Facilitates effective and timely delivery of established internal
training materials, systems, and processes targeting improvement of
equipment operator knowledge and skills. Provides regular updates
and feedback to mine operations supervisors on training programs,
their outcomes, and logistical issues. Utilizes available resources
to provide professional Mine Operations training manual to further
assist with the development and skill level progression of
equipment operators. Contributes to the onboarding process for new
hires Works collaboratively with the Mine Operations department to
ensure productions goals are achieved. Adaptable to change and
continuous improvement for yourself and the team. Minimum
Qualifications and Education: High School diploma or GED and five
years of related mine operational experience. Experience in
delivering training packages, utilizing adult learning
theories/styles appropriate to the workforce. Experienced with a
multitude of general earthwork and mining equipment such as but not
limited to; Track Dozers, Excavators, Motor Graders, Front End
Loaders, Large Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Backhoes,
Electric/Hydraulic Shovels, etc. Supervisory and leadership
experience Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint
Ability to work & multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability
to lift 50 lbs. and meet all other requirements of the job. Can
move over uneven terrain The ability to work in different
environmental conditions. Positive work ethic Maintain a drug and
alcohol-free workplace. Possess a valid Driver’s License. Ability
to lead, motivate, manage and grow the team Strong leadership and
communication skills. Have reliable personal transportation to the
site location (transportation at the site will be in company
vehicles) Ability to travel for additional training,
certifications, and conferences PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current
MSHA Current Caterpillar certifications Current Class A or Class B
