We are Roche.The OpportunityAs a Lab Technician / Assistant III you will ensure laboratory instruments and equipment are completed. You will performs onsite servicing and technical support of various lab equipment including Benchmark auto-stainers as well as maintains calibration records and organizes repairs for all area lab equipment. Also, you are:

• Performing daily, monthly, quarterly instrument and equipment maintenance and cleaning tasks. Troubleshooting minor equipment malfunctions by performing operational tests, and managing routine maintenance on Thermal equipment (refrigerators, freezers, incubators, etc.). May perform staining runs for new BenchMark instrument installations.
• Monitoring and maintaining usage logs for all equipment and instruments as well as monitoring, schedules, and delivering portable instruments for calibration and maintaining necessary documentation.
• Preparing and scheduling incoming and outgoing stained slide and/or reagent shipments. Coordinating equipment preventative maintenance, repairs and validations with third party vendors.
• Performing scheduled lab inspections. May assist with the preparation or lab inspections roster and ensure inspections are completed as scheduled.
• Serves as the primary trainer for new Lab Tech/AssistantsWho you are
  • You hold a High School Diploma and 5 years of relevant lab experience, or an Associate's Degree and 3 years of relevant lab experience, required. No equivalencies accepted.
  • The necessary expertise is with operating and maintaining Ventana instrumentsPreferred behaviors, competencies, and qualities of the ideal applicant.
    • This position requires a high degree of organizational and attention to detail in written instructions and documentation.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to use hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, nut-drivers and various other hand tools. Ability to use test equipment such as flow meters, pH meters, precision weight scales, and pressure meters.
    • Knowledge of and skill in inventory management.
    • Some laboratory and knowledge of general laboratory practices is preferred.Relocation benefits are not offered for this job posting.The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson is 43,700.00 - 81,100.00 USD annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
